Fish to rising Brown, Rainbow, and Brook Trout on warm summer afternoons and early evenings using traditional fly fishing tactics. And don't forget the Giant Hexagenia Limbata Mayfly (Hex). The Wood River is known for its Hex hatch starting mid June. This hatch begins around 8:30 and can last for over two hours. This hatch is known to bring the biggest fish in the river to the surface. 

If it is a big river you prefer then let me share with you twelve years of experience on one of New England's finest tail-water fisheries the Farmington River in Northern Connecticut. The Farmington boast some of the best dry fly fishing in the North East. It is not uncommon to be fishing to 2o plus inch wild brown trout feeding on midge on the Farmington River. If chalenge is what you are looking for this is a great river to find it.

Little Rhody offers some of the best coastal fishing for many species of saltwater game fish. Wade fish Rhode Islands saltwater estuaries, beaches, and breech-ways for Shad, Striped Bass, Bluefish, Bonito, and False Albacore.
