Midge reside on most rivers year round. During hatch-less periods or what you believe to be hatch-less periods with rising trout, move to 6 & 7X tippet with long leaders and focus on midge fishing.Mid September can bring early morning Trico's, this hatch will bring trout to constant feeding for a few early hours.
